The digital job market continues to evolve in Q1 2024...

The digital job market continues to evolve in Q1 2024. The competition for top talent is extremely high, with new vacancies increasing across most specialisms. We have seen a big increase of 34% in jobs when we compare Q4 and Q1 last year. This is consistent across all of our specialisms, with the exception of Product, eCommerce and Account Management (Ad Tech roles).

Our latest Salary Survey found that 59% of respondents are considering career moves in 2024. Our Job Market Report findings show that in 2023 Q4 we saw a small rise in salaries across the board, with a 3% increase in average salaries since Q3. However,in Q1 2024, this trend did not continue - salaries have remained fairly flat over the last 12 months and Quarter-on-Quarter. If businesses want to ensure they are bringing in top talent, a good level of compensation is something to consider.

We saw falls in Salaries in Ad Tech Sales roles - this is more likely due to the level businesses are hiring at, rather than a downward trend. Meanwhile, Project Management and Product roles saw the largest increase in salaries, highlighting a need for senior resource.

All in all, these positive indicators suggest a more stable 2024 for the job market.
